Get rid of clutter
No more making you feel trapped in a chaotic office. Take one or two hours and go through everything in your home office. Sifting through piles of paper, and toss or file all right. It is also a good time to ban anything that is not compatible with your actual work from your home office, including children's toys, magazines, bills and personal conversations, junk email, etc.
Time for an intensive cleaning
Now that you got rid of all the extra clutter, take the time to give your office a thorough cleaning. Starting from the top and work your way down. Wiping any ceiling fans and lighting, as well as curtain rods and doorframes. Clean the inside of the window and go out and throw away the curtain in the washing machine. Remove books and picture frames off the shelf, dust it and give a full rack of dust as well. Mopping the floor or carpet shampoo. Do not forget to wipe down any pictures you hanging and dust baseboards. If you do not have time, or not really clean, consider getting a cleaning service to come and do the job for you.
Rearrange Your Office Furniture
Consider rearranging your office furniture to provide a new and fresh look. Consider moving your desk in front of the window so you can see outside. Bring in a favorite chair that you can relax as you read over the proposals, or studying the latest print publications for your industry. Bringing some pictures of the new, a variety of carpet, or other accessories that will give your office the look you want.
Bring In Spring
If going out is not an option, bringing the spring. Get some new plants for your office and keep some fresh cut flowers from your garden or your local flower shop in your desk. Open windows when weather permits and allow the clean fresh air in spring
Most importantly, do not get rid of your office all day every day. Take time to enjoy the day, a beautiful spring day outside with your family. You'll find yourself in better new home office you cleaned and organized. Advantage of that by getting the job done so you can go out and play.
